According to an article in the Herald Tribune, Father Robert Kapoun, removed from active ministry in 2002 because of a history of sexually abusing minors, was allowed by the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis to purchase a home across the street from a Catholic Church in Palmetto, Florida, that very same year. Moreover, he has been permitted to reside there despite having been incorporated into the 'monitoring program' developed by the Archdiocese.

In true fashion of the Church "protecting" it's children, the Monitoring Program probably ends completely when the priest is defrocked..... I'm guessing that lacitizing a priest allows the church to wash to wash their hands without ever looking back! The Church has so little recognition and involvement in the very real problems when the priest is actively serving, I must believe it's even less when he's lacitized.

I am so glad we have a new Bishop...he has a grasp on the enormity of the mess Bishop Bully left and has cleaned "house" at the chancery....oops I was dreaming! B. Hebda has done nothing!
Maybe Monty Python got the mockery correct, some of the time.

This is old news and in fairness to the RCC they should be given chance to show they have changed - so let's consider Jeytunpil - pled guilty to molesting a girl in northern MN - and reinstated to active ministry - in India now - they've gotten creative ! no longer can they send them from parish to parish , or to Battle Creek - they now send them halfway around the world - the next time u have a foreign visiting priest keep your kids close - if u r reading this u already know, but the RCC cares about the brethren, not a whit about your children.

I checked a few minutes ago and it is no longer there. This does not pass the smell test!!!

The active priests should speak out, He should be in jail , not in a half a million dollar lake front home, of course this had to have happened under Flynn or Roach but accountants for the Archdiocese have to know what he being paid. Why does no one in the Archdiocese speak up? I have the entire article copied and pasted on another email so all is not lost.....except any trust left of the Catholics in the Archdiocese, maybe non-catholics in our state as well as well.

MOTTO: 'If You Want To Rape Kids And Get Away With It -- Become A Priest' -- Please contact your local Seminary.

Sad, but true.

And -- I love Pope Francis to death and pray for him each and every day, however -- he needs to stop shaking his fists at secular society's sins, i.e. -- Italian mafia:

'Repent. There's still time to not end up in hell, which is what awaits you if you continue on this path'

- or -

'..Mafia...change your way of life. Stop doing evil, convert'

Instead, focus on the sewage pit created by his own Bad Boys.

** If they do no not repent -- speak the truth re what they've done, or allowed to be done (culpable Bishops) -- they, too, have secured a one-way ticket to Hell.

They're finished -- even if they privately confess, but publically deny -- they're Liars. Duplicitous-hypocrites, or as 'outraged' remarked on the last post - likening RCCs behaviors to 'organized crime'. Yes, that is correct. The Roman Catholic Church has a beautifully crafted quiet method of killing its own people by: Rape (to children).

[And we have the audacity to comment on Human Trafficking]

Sick. With Satan's signature on it.

We're no damn better than the Mafia.

Get off it.

It is virtually impossible to differentiate a genuine Holy Priest from a criminal who dresses like a priest, talks like a priest and calls himself "Your Spiritual Father" to a Parish.

Dan, are you talking about Father Kevin McDonough (a criminal who dresses like a priest)? Why no one speaks of him very much is beyond me. He HAS a key role in moving priest around and is very good friends with Roach and Flynn, yet continues to deny he has done anything wrong.

FYI - The link to the article worked for me a minute ago.

It's interesting that, as a lay person, I have to convince myself to attend the Mass and receive the Eucharistic despite the lack of confidence in our Bishop and priests to see beyond themselves.
